Our dedication to quality comes from an obsession with pristine environments and the pure botanicals they produce. In Hawaii, we believe coffee benefits from some of the most unique ecosystems on the planet and results in truly notable crops. We pay careful attention to craft and process and celebrate each of Hawaii’s coffee growing regions with signature roasting that brings out their individually unique flavors. Some of our coffees are seasonal, some are available year round, but all of them are amongst the finest in the world.

    About the Coffee

Celinga is a small town with a coffee processing mill in the region where this dry/natural process coffee comes from. Natural process coffees refer to a processing method that uses sun-drying coffees on drying racks. This produces a much fruitier, sweeter cup of coffee, especially at the light roast levels. These flavors can be surprising to some "normal" coffee drinkers.

Jack's Feed Store was a farm animal feed and supply store that operated in the building that is now our roastery in Tama, Iowa. These kinds of feed milling and sales stores were common in farm towns across the Midwest of the last century. We honor that tradition with this new blend. As a medium roast, you get chocolatey and fruity notes but also an earthy, rustic quality that characterizes the Midwest. We like to think this coffee can be enjoyed by coffee snobs and rural coffee drinkers alike.

    • Sourcing: Direct Trade, Gold Mountain Coffee Growers

    About the Farmers

The Sebastiana family farm was started by matriarch, Doña Sebastiana, who used to be a cook at a large coffee plantation. After being given a piglet, which she raised and sold to buy a calf, which she raised and sold to buy two more, Doña Sebastiana used income from her cattle to buy the land where her family has been farming coffee for 35 years. Sadly, Doña Sebastiana passed away after the 2015 harvest, which is the lot we have here. But her family is carrying on her legacy by continuing to produce excellent coffee. Since partnering with our Direct Trade partner, Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, the Sebastiana family has been receiving very good prices for their meticulously-produced specialty coffee. We're proud to offer this coffee from a small family farm!

Origin: Colombian Excelso EP Santa Barbara Estate Farm Location: Antioquia, Colombia Altitude: 4,593 - 6,561 Feet Varietal: Colombia and Caturra Process: Washed Drying: Silo drying Harvest: October - May Export November - June The Colombia Origin coffee comes from the world's best-known producer of coffee, ranking second worldwide in yearly production. Colombia takes this position seriously and works very hard to maintain a high standard of excellence. Colombia coffee was introduced in the early 1800's and is known for its bright acidity, heavy body and intense aroma. The coffee is grown in an extremely rugged landscape, providing the perfect natural environment for growing coffee. This makes the production extremely difficult and the coffee must be transported by mule or jeep through the rugged terrain. The care and attention results in consistently good, mild coffees with a well-balanced acidity. Don Pedro Echavarria established the Santa Barbara Estate almost three decades ago with the vision of producing a superior quality Colombian Coffee. This vision is proudly shared by all in the Santa Barbara Estate family. This Estate is one of the few completely integrated coffee farms in Colombia, which ensures traceability and close quality control from seed to cup. A combination of factors such as climate, altitude, constant care, renovation of trees, and good volcanic soil provide the basis for excellent coffee production. Education and incentive programs encourage the workers to focus on quality rather than quantity. The highly technological wet and dry mill processing, coupled with attention to detail and daily cupping, enables the Santa Barbara Estate to deliver an exceptional and consistent high-quality Colombian coffee.
